This is my Brooklyn memories album. Im born and raised, and the vast city that confounds so much and takes so much from people that move here and speak about it after the fact, is my home and that means something outside of the city horserace think-piece industry, born out of what i think is a callow self centeredness about what anywhere can "do" for you, rather than how you exist at all times in a lattices work of humans doing the same thing you are, living. all the opinions sometimes fail to remember that a city is also where people live, human people, and for some people its the only accepting place possible. I was left in my girlfriend apartment while she travelled, and recorded this while thinking deeply about friends i've lost and found and the arc of social history and how you tell your story to yourself to make yourself, but if you don't write shit down you will forget parts of your story and only the starkest parts will stand out, and that will miss the truths of nuance and illuminating day to day details.
